This week’s Michael Venable State Farm Player of the Week is University Heights Academy tennis player Stephen Whitecotton.
For the second straight year, Whitecotton has advanced to the Region 2 Tennis Tournament semifinals. Last year at Heritage Christian Academy, he earned a bid to the KHSAA State Tournament.
On Monday, Whitecotton, the No. 2 seed, advanced to the region semifinals with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Madisonville’s Nick Burns and a 6-4, 6-1 win over Fort Campbell’s Giacomo Vacco.
