The TVA launches its Leadership Academy in Kentucky

The Tennessee Valley Authority recently launched its Leadership Academy in Kentucky, and its inaugural class includes some names familiar to Christian County.

According to a news release, the class will travel to sites across the region during the summer to learn how the TVA provides reliable power, supports economic development and manages river systems. The inaugural class has 10 members, including Pennyroyal Arts Council Director Margaret Prim, District Eight Representative Walker Thomas and Kelly Gates with the Christian County Public School System.

TVA Government and Community Relations Director Virginia Gray says energy, economic development and environmental stewardship are the three fundamental principles that drive TVA and the Kentucky leaders in this class will get to experience some of what the power provider does first-hand.
