It’s a big week for Christian County Public School students, as it’s Teacher Appreciation Week and students across the district will begin state assessment testing this week.
Speaking with WHOP Monday morning, Superintendent Chris Bentzel took a moment to thank all of their classroom teachers, saying from the youngest learners to those about to take their first steps into life after school, these teachers have big impacts on students and their families.
Students in third grade through juniors in high school will be putting pencils to the paper this week, as state assessment testing gets underway.
Bentzel says this testing is important for many reason, not just as an indicator for school performance, but also allowing them to see what gaps need to be filled to make sure students are learning everything they need to.
He encouraged students to get plenty of sleep this week, eat a good breakfast before school, and come ready to do their best on their tests.
