The commencement ceremonies for Christian County and Hopkinsville High Schools are set to be hosted at the Stadium of Champions, but rainy weather may compromise that. On Wednesday, Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Bentzel shared their plans to determine the location for the ceremonies.
As a results of Friday’s weather forecast showing chances for rain, Bentzel says they have a weather forecast meeting and a senior class meeting on Thursday. Then, the final graduation location will be announced on Friday at noon.
Bentzel says it is their goal to host the ceremonies at the stadium, but if they are moved to the school’s respective gymnasiums then each graduate will get 10 tickets for family members to attend.
Regardless of the location the CCHS graduation ceremony will be at 5 p.m. and the HHS graduation ceremony will be at 8:30 p.m. both on Friday. If the ceremony is hosted at the stadium, attendees are advised to not bring umbrellas because they would obstruct the view of others.
