Two University Heights Academy tennis players were eliminated in the first round of the KHSAA State Tennis Tournament on Wednesday in Bowling Green.
Stephen Whitecotton, who qualified as the Region 2 runner-up, dropped a 6-1, 6-2 match to Paducah Tilghman’s Henry Wright.
Meanwhile, the Lady Blazers’ Allie Sandifer the Region 2 runner-up, faced Region 1 representative Olivia O’Neill, of Paducah St. Mary’s, and fell in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.Â
The Sectional play included players from regions 1-4 and was played at South Warren High School.
