It was another strong weekend for Christian County High School junior Satona Bailey, who picked up another couple of gold medals at the Area 1 Track Meet at Calloway County High School Saturday.
Christian County finished eighth and were led by Bailey, who took first place in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Bailey broke the tape in the 100-meter Dash in 11.22 seconds and won the 200-meter Dash in 22.38 seconds.
Bailey also helped the Colonels’ 4×100-meter Relay team of Paul Abren, Karmelo Bailey, and Tom Johnson take second place in a time of 44.39 seconds.
Cayden Cline also had an impressive day for the Colonels as he took third in the 1,600-meter run in 4:44.68 and was fifth in the 800-meter Run in 2:07.19.
Henderson County won the 23-team event with 102.5 points while Christian County finished with 43.
Meanwhile, the Lady Colonels took 16th-place in the meet. McCracken County won the girls’ meet with 163.5 points while Christian County finished with 15.
Senior Adreyona Smith had a toss of 93-feet, 4-inches to take fourth in the Discus Throw.
Symeria Brown ran fifth in the 200-meter Dash with a time of 27.62 seconds.
Christian County will participate in the Class 3-A, Region 1 Meet on Saturday morning at Henderson County High School.
