It’s a familiar sight this time of year, as crews with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet have been out and will continue to be out mowing the state right-of-ways for the next several weeks.
Crews are out across the state, including locally, battling the ever-growing grasses, to help clear lines of sight for motorists. Motorists are urged to be on the look out for mowers and other equipment, as tractors may have to occasionally cross lanes of travel to conduct their work. Also stay alert for support vehicles and workers near the roadway.
Crews in every county will be working during daylight hours, as weather permits.
As a reminder, political signs and other advertising are not permitted on state highway right of way and should be removed. State highway personnel may remove signs without notice to the owner.
Signs that are removed will generally be held for 10 working days at the local KYTC Department of Highway Maintenance Facility, allowing owners a chance to claim them.
