McGee optioned back to Nashville Sounds

The Milwaukee Brewers have optioned former Hopkinsville High School pitcher Easton McGee back to Triple-A Nashville.

McGee was brought up to the Brewers on Friday to replace pitcher Brandon Woodruff, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflamation.

However, McGee was sent back to Nashville on Sunday. He will cede his spot on the Brewers’ roster to right-hander Logan Henderson.

McGee started the season with the Brewers but was shipped to the Sounds on April 17.

He played in two games for Milwaukee this season and pitched two scoreless innings.

Last season, the 28-year-old McGee had several stints with the Brewers, seeing action in nine games. He struck out 13 and walked one and had a 5.91 ERA.
