Christian, Trigg County community members file for public offices

In Christian County, the Commonwealth’s Attorney and Circuit Court Clerk filed for reelection, a newcomer and an incumbent have field for city council seats and in Trigg County the Commonwealth’s Attorney announced her run for reelection in 2024.

Recently coming off an election win from the November 7 General Election, current Christian County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Maureen Leamy filed as a Republican candidate to retain her position. Along with Leamy, Paige Parker has filed as a Republican to retain her position as the Christian County Circuit Court Clerk.

Both the Commonwealth’s Attorney and Circuit Court Clerk serve six-year terms.

Angelique Viktor is the fourth person to file for the Hopkinsville City Council Ward nine seat and the first Democrat to do so. In the Oak Grove City Council, Edward Cook has filed for reelection.  

In Trigg County, Carrie Ovey-Wiggins announced her run for reelection for to her position as the Trigg County Commonwealth’s Attorney, a role she has served for the past eight years.
