Grand Jury returns indictments for assault, robbery and sex crimes

A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for first-degree assault, second-degree robbery and sex related crimes on Friday.

Emmanuel Lopez of Hopkinsville was indicted on charges of first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to maintain vehicle insurance, driving without a license and having an expired registration for a wreck that occurred on August 15.

The charges come after Lopez struck a parked vehicle head-on with his vehicle and launched the vehicle toward a group of pedestrians standing nearby four of which suffered injuries.

 Jamarvis Allen of Oak Grove was indicted on charges of second-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence after he was reported to have used physical force upon an employee at Kangaroo Express while committing a theft on October 6.

Joseph Burkholder of Hopkinsville was indicted on charges of first-degree sodomy of a victim under the age of 12 and unlawful transaction with a minor under the age of 16 after he was reported to have performed sexual activities with a minor in March 2021.
