Hopkinsville Chamber Orchestra and Chorus set to host debut performance in June

Musical works have been happening at First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville, and now, the Hopkinsville Chamber Orchestra and Chorus is set to make their debut to the community.

Their first performance will take place on June 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the historic Alhambra Threatre, and a celebration reception will follow the performance, with the hope of sparking community interest and discover some local talent to take part in the endeavor. Speaking with WHOP recently, Pennyroyal Arts Council Executive Director Margaret Prim and Organizer Lindsey Adams expressed their excitement for the musical group, saying it’s bringing the joy of music to Hopkinsville, one note at a time.

The group is under the direction of FUMC Music Director Heejung Park, and Adams says this has been a dream of Park’s for some time that is finally starting to take form.

They say that attendees will get to hear some truly sensational music that will highlight talented individuals from across western Kentucky.

There will be special guests participating, uniting performers of all backgrounds in a shared vision of artistic excellence and community connection.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students that are 18 and under. Attendees are invited to stay after the performance for a celebration reception, offering an opportunity to meet performers, connect with fellow arts supporters, and learn more about how to get involved in this growing initiative
