In their first game back since winning the Touchstone Energy All “A” Baseball Tournament championship on Sunday, the University Heights Academy Blazers showed no rust in an 18-2, three-inning victory over visiting Union County Thursday night.
Hayden Hunt hit a two-run triple and Jaiden Miles and Cadence Gibson each had two-run doubles as part of a nine-run first inning for the Blazers (21-3).
UHA, which won for the sixth straight time, added nine more runs in the bottom of the second inning as Ty Grace had a two-run double and Thomas Hallmark also had a double in the frame. Matthew Flynn added a two-run single and Jackson Flynn also doubled in the inning.
Josh Pace picked up the pitching win as he went two innings and struck out three while walking two. Jackson Flynn pitched the third inning and helped hold the Braves to no hits in the game.
UHA is scheduled to play at Muhlenberg County on Saturday.
