3-run fifth inning carries Logan past Colonels

A three-run fifth inning lifted host Logan County to a 6-4 high school baseball win over Christian County Thursday night.  

The Colonels struck for four runs in the top of the first as Andrew Mayes had a two-run single and Blake Boehman had an RBI-single. 

However, the Cougars bounced back for three runs in the bottom of the first. 

Logan took the lead for good in the fifth using four hits.  

Gavin Mitchell went 3-for-4 and Blake Boehman had a pair of hits to lead the Colonels, who fell to 14-12 on the season. Gage Montes added a double. 

Christian County is scheduled to play host to South Warren tonight.
