The hill may be a rough climb for the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors in the 2024-25 high school basketball season.
The Lady Warriors only return four players from last year and have nine players on their current roster. They will have to replace top scorer Kate St. Martin.
Leading the way is junior Lexi Lyon and eighth grader Lauren Loftus. Loftus is the top returning scorer from last year’s 1-18 squad at 1.5 points.
Head Coach Josh Bridges said his team, which is entering its second full year in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, may struggle against the more established programs on its schedule.
The offense will be in the hands of eighth grade point guard Kynlee Henderson, who is the second leading returning scorer and among the top returning rebounders on the team.
Eighth grader Ava DeJager, who led the team in rebounding last year (4.5) also will be counted on for good minutes.
Freshmen Charity Hall, Lily Anderson, Chloe Peck and Riley Sutton also will be in the rotation along with eighth grader Susan Weiss.
The Lady Warriors open their season Dec. 7 in the Kentucky Christian Athletic Conference State Tournament against North Hardin Christian. They also will play Dawson Springs in the Toyota Classic on Dec. 12 at Hopkinsville High School.
Other homes games include No. 20-ranked Christian County (Jan. 9) and Trigg County (Feb. 8).
