Forecasters from the National Weather Service in Paducah are expecting snowfall to make its way to the region on Friday.
Southwestern Kentucky including Christian, Trigg and Todd Counties are expected to receive around 2 to 4 inches of snow while areas north of Owensboro are expected to receive around 1-to-3 inches of snow. Temperatures are also set to drop further below freezing by Friday. Â
The weather service advises that the snow fall will probably impact travel. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is urging motorists to beware of potential black ice. With temperatures expected to drop, ice could stick around during the daytime hours and may be more resistant to salt.
