The Hoptown Hoppers saw their game with the visiting Henderson Flash halted in the bottom of the sixth inning by weather on Monday night.
The game was tied at 4-4 and Hoptown had a runner on first base with no out when rain arrived and halted the game.
The Flash took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first using four hits and a key Hoppers’ error.
However, Hoptown answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. Gabe Eddington had a RBI single.
After the Flash regained the lead with a run in the top of the third, Myles Denton hit a two-run home run for the Hoppers in the bottom of the frame for a 4-3 Hoppers’ advantage.
As the weather began to threaten, the Hoppers looked on the way to a win in a rain-shortened game. However, Henderson’s Colton Evans slugged as solo home run with one out in the top of the fifth to knot the game at 4.
The Hoppers had the potential go-ahead run cut down at third base in the bottom of the fifth.
Eddington had reached on a walk to start the bottom of the sixth when the rain started.
There is no date for the game to be resumed as of this morning.
The Hoppers are back in action at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday against the visiting Madisonville Miners. Airtime is 6:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
