UHA’s Luckey signs baseball letter with Brescia

With the school body, friends, teammates, and family watching, University Heights Academy senior baseball player Ryan Luckey signed his national letter-of-intent Friday morning with Brescia University.

Luckey is a four-sport star at UHA. Not only did he play four sports, he excelled at baseball, soccer, basketball, and track.

Blazers’ baseball coach Michael Crow said the Bearcats are getting an impressive athlete and a student.

For much of the year, Luckey has been the leadoff batter for the No. 3-ranked Blazers’ baseball team. A centerfielder, Luckey is hitting .351 with 14 RBI.

He also pitches for UHA and has a 4-0 record with a 0.85 ERA and 24 strikeouts with only six walks.

Luckey said he has always wanted to play college baseball and knew immediately that Brescia was the right place for him.

Luckey said he plans to major in Secondary Education with a minor in Sports Management. After graduation, he plans to come back to area and teach and coach.
