Nearly 200 golfers participated in the Christian County Invitational on Saturday at the Western Hills Golf Course.
In boys’ play, Owensboro won the team title with a 284, followed by McCracken County (292) and Madisonville-North Hopkins (305).
University Heights Academy’s “A” team shot a 314 and the Blazers’ “B” squad had a 397.
Hayden Hunt paced UHA’s “A” team with a 72 and Cal Givens added a 78. Courtland Gibson carded an 81 and Bryson Turner added an 83.
Hugh Sisk paced the UHA “B” team with a 97. Waylon Jackson (98), Matthew Flynn (99), Jackson Crick (103) and Michael Flynn (109).
In the girls’ tournament, Marshall County won the team title with a 289, easilty defeating second place South Warren (304) and Barren County (317).
South Warren’s Sydney McClanahan won a scorecard playoff with Daviess County’s Claire Reynolds. Both shot a 66. Marshall County’s Kate Roberts carded a 67.
UHA’s Conlee Lindsey was fourth with a 69.
Campbell Lindsey (83), Allie Sandifer (92) and Caroline Tucker (109) also played and helped UHA to a ninth-place finish with a team score of 353.
