University Heights Academy’s boys and girls high school golf teams are Region 2 All “A” Tournament champions.
The Blazers shot a team score of 323, led by Cal Givens, whose 77 was the low score of the tournament on Thursday at Drake Creek Golf Course in Ledbetter. Livingston Central was second with a 347 and Lyon County had a 360 in team competition.
UHA’s Hayden Hunt was second individually with an 80.
Bryson Turner had an 82, followed by Courtland Gibson (84) and Jackson Flynn (100).
The team qualifies for the All “A” State Tournament, which is scheduled for Sept. 7 in Richmond at Gibson Bay Golf Course.
Meanwhile, Conlee Lindsey earned medalist honors for the Lady Blazers, who advance to the Girls’ All “A” State Tournament on Sept. 8 in Richmond.
Lindsey carded a 74, followed by Allie Sandifer’s 91. Campbell Lindsey had a 95 and Caroline Tucker carded a 121 for the Lady Blazers, who had a team score of 381.
