Complicity to murder suspect Dekorian Daniel has a new attorney and a new trial date, following a hearing in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.
Daniel—who is charged in connection to the fatal shooting death of Adrian Acree in 2021—had previously been represented by defense attorney Olivia Adams, then by public defender Doug Moore, but now he has yet another new attorney in public defender James Mills.
Due to the recent appointment of Mills, the trial date of August 22 was continued—it is now set to take place on January 26, with the next pretrial conference set of July 16.
Daniel is accused of luring Acree to the location where he would be shot and killed by Cortez Hairston Jr.
Daniel is the only co-defendant that remains unresolved in this case. Hairston Jr. was convicted of first-degree murder at trial recently and sentenced to 30 years in prison, while co-defendant Jaila Sherrod has pled guilty to facilitation of murder and tampering with physical evidence to her role.
