Jeffers Bend Environmental Center is getting into the Halloween spirit, and they’re inviting the community out for ghost stories, campfires and cozy-scary fun.
Torchlight Tales returns to Jeffers Bend for the telling of the Bell Witch story—and it will be told by epic story-tellers William Turner and Wayne Goolsby, who are well versed in the story and the history behind it. Charles Turner with Jeffers Bend says it’s a time of great family fun and it all takes place October 19 starting at 6 p.m.
It’s only $5 per vehicle to get into Jeffers Bend for the event, and Diane Croney-Turner says they’ll have little gifts for children and plenty of fall-themed goodies.
They say to be on your guard, because during the telling, there could be strange happenings taking place on the ground of Jeffers Bend.
Military and first responders get in free. Croney-Turner urges folks to dress in 1800’s period attire or, go ahead and let those kids try-out their Halloween costumes.
