Todd County Detention Center inmates charged for drug trafficking

Deputies from the Todd County Sheriff’s Office and the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force charged Todd County Detention Center inmates Cortez Cooper of Louisville and Matthew Goesman of Louisville for drug trafficking following an investigation on Tuesday.

On Monday the detention facility contacted Todd County Sheriff Tracy White about suspected contraband that was located by deputy jailers. The sheriff’s office and the task force launched an investigation with the assistance of the jail staff.

The investigation pointed to Cooper and Goesman who reportedly possessed and distributed Suboxone and tobacco inside of the jail facility.

The pair was charged with first-degree promoting contraband and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. Cooper was additionally charged with second-degree promoting contraband.
