Todd Central turns back Heritage Christian, 8-3

Todd County Central scored five runs in the top of the third inning and defeated host Heritage Christian Academy 8-3 in a high school baseball game Monday evening. 

Heritage jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first as Henry Bullard doubled to drive home Collin Outland and Caden Gresham. 

However, the Rebels responded with five runs in the third inning to take a 5-2 advantage. 

Spencer Pool had an inside-the-park home run that scored Conner Wheeler. Lane Thomas and Waylon Lanier also had run-producing hits in the inning for the Rebels (2-6). 

The Rebels padded their lead to 7-2 in the fourth inning although the Warriors drew within 7-3 in the bottom of the fifth with a solo run. HCA took advantage of a pair of Rebels’ errors that allowed Lawson Clark to score. 

Todd scored its final run in the top of the sixth inning for the final 8-3 score. 

The game was halted after six innings due to darkness. 

 Bullard and Outland had a pair of hits for HCA, which fell to 2-4 on the season.  

Wheeler led the Rebels’ offense with two hits. 

Heritage Christian returns to action Thursday at home against Russellville.
