The Hopkinsville Tigers will try to get their first district football win of the season Saturday afternoon against Warren East in a Class 4-A, District 1 game.
The Tigers are 1-4 overall and 0-1 in district play after losing to second-ranked Paducah Tilghman 56-0 last Friday. The Raiders hammered Calloway County 68-0 last Friday night and are 4-1 overall and 1-0 in district standings.
The Raiders have one of the top quarterbacks in the area with senior dual-threat Dane Parsley.
Hopkinsville coach Dustin Lopez said his team has to be fundamentally sound to have success against Warren East.
Hoptown is led by senior quarterback Aiden King, who has thrown for 806 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Senior wide receiver Treston Kay is King’s favorite target. He has 358 yards and six touchdowns.
Warren East defeated the Tigers 33-12 last year in Bowling Green.
The game can be heard at 1:30 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.
