Hopkinsville went on the road Monday night and came away with a convincing 81-46 high school basketball win over Russellville.
Jonathan Hart led four Tigers in double figures with 24 points. James Bradley Jr. had 16, Jonovan Leavell added 12 and Jayon Bass provided 11 for the Tigers, who improved to 13-14 overall.
Hoptown was in control from the outset, jumping out to a 22-13 lead after one quarter and pushing the advantage to 48-29 at halftime.
Hart had 19 of his 24 points at the break, including making five of his six 3-pointers on the night in the first two periods. Bradley had 14 of his 16 points in the first half.
Leavell and Bass carried the Tigers in the second half as the two combined for 12 points.
Hopkinsville led 67-35 after three quarters as the running clock went into effect in the fourth quarter.
It was the fifth win in six outings for Hoptown, which is scheduled to play tonight at Lyon County, weather permitting. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with airtime for the F&M Bank Pregame Show at 7:15 on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.
Russellville, who played without three starters, was led by Jamarion Gardner’s 20 points.
