Two Dawson Springs residents and a man from Georgia are facing numerous charges following a pursuit in Hopkins County on Thursday night.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle around 11:36 p.m. in Dawson Springs and the driver reportedly failed to stop. A vehicle pursuit began that went through Dawson Springs and during the pursuit, gunshots were allegedly fired at officers from the vehicle.
The alleged driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Kristopher Barker of Georgia, was later located and taken into custody, along with 32-year-old Tanner Southerland of Dawson Springs. Another Dawson Springs resident, 27-year-old Kirsten Bean, was taken into custody for multiple warrants for unrelated charges.
Barker is charged with conspiracy to attempted murder of a police officer, fleeing or evading police 1st degree, reckless driving, and no taillights. Southerland is charged with attempted murder of a police officer.
Bean is facing charges of trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense, trafficking in marijuana greater than 5 pounds, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in controlled substance 2nd degree, 1st offense, trafficking in controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, 1st offense, wanton endangerment 2nd degree and disorderly conduct. additionally, bean is charged on another warrant with possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense, methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating vehicle with expired operators license, careless driving, and rear license plate not illuminated.
