As the filings continue for those looking to seek political office in Kentucky, Representative Walker Thomas has filed to seek re-election to represent the 8th District.
That’s a position he has held for nearly ten years now, and he says he filed to run for re-election because he’s just not done yet, and he has more work to do.
Thomas represents parts of Christian and Trigg Counties and all of Caldwell County, and he says if he wins re-election, he continues to push for further reduction of the state income tax, with the goal of eventually getting it down to zero. But he would also love to see military pensions become tax exempt and he’ll push for it once again upon his return to Frankfort.
Although he does not currently have an opponent on the ballot, Thomas says he wants to thank the constituents for their continued support, and he hopes he’s proven that he will work for the people of this district to the best of his ability.
Thomas currently serves on seven different committees in the Kentucky General Assembly, so it’s shaping up to be busy session for the legislator. He has filed to run as a Republican.
