The Cadiz-Trigg County big pig now has a name

The 10-foot-tall concrete pig that calls Trigg County home now has a name, and it was announced at the annual Trigg County Ham Festival Breakfast Thursday morning.

The name comes after over 1,300 suggestions were submitted by the community in the Name That Pig Contest, and the newest resident located at 5895 Hopkinsville Road in Broadbent Square will now be known as Cadi.  The name serves as both a play on the Cadiz name, but also will act as a legacy of the Broadbent family.

The Cadiz-Trigg County Piggy has been designed to highlight the unique features of Trigg County that make it appealing to both locals and tourists including the Country Ham Festival, Land Between the Lakes, Lake Barkley State Resort Park, the Janice Mason Art Museum, along our community’s foundation as an agriculture community with a tobacco barn, cow, and much more.

It will also highlight the many pig statues that already call the area home and will serve as photo opportunities for residents and visitors alike for years to come.
