The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers’ volleyball team used an impressive performance from Madysen Taggart to grab its first victory of the season on Monday night at Hopkins County Central.
Taggert finished with 18 of the team’s 28 kills and added nine digs, six aces, and a block as Hoptown took the 3-2 victory over the Lady Storm.
Hopkinsville won the first set 25-12 before dropping a hard-fought 29-27 decision in the second set. The Lady Tigers rolled to a 25-11 third-set win but Hopkins Central refused to give up and pulled out a 25-23 win in the fourth set.
Hoptown wasted little time in the fifth set grabbing an early lead and rolled to the 15-2 win.
Samyriah Walker had three blocks, Lainey Stewart provided five kills and five aces, and Kyleigh Weber had 20 digs and nine aces.
Alayna King also had an impressive game with 21 assists and eight aces.
The Lady Tigers improve to 1-6 on the season and play host to Todd County Central on Thursday night.
