Sheriff Tyler DeArmond announces his run for reelection

After serving two terms as Christian County Sheriff, Tyler DeArmond announced his plans to serve a third term and will be running for reelection.

DeArmond has served as the sheriff since 2019 and has worked in law enforcement for nearly 21 years. He says he is seeking reelection to further expand the department’s law enforcement and community outreach efforts.

During his tenure, DeArmond says the department launched its Citizens’ Academy, increased staff and patrol numbers and created a warehouse to store evidence at the department.

If reelected, DeArmond says his priorities are to continue connecting with the community and expanding the Anti-Crime Unit to better respond to theft crimes and substance abuse.

DeArmond will have a challenger on the ballot. Erik Pacheco, the deputy chief of the Hopkinsville Police Department, announced his candidacy on Friday.
