Candidate filings continue not just locally, but also on the state level, as several State Representative incumbents have filed their paperwork to seek re-election.
One of those is District 8 Representative Walker Thomas, who filed as a Republican to seek that office he has held for four terms and is looking to serve a fifth one. District 8 includes portions of Christian, Trigg and all of Caldwell Counties.
Then, incumbent Republican Representative in District 4 Wade Williams has also filed to run for re-election in the district that holds all of Hopkins County. In a post to social media, he says, “As I have approached the half point of my first term, I can truly say it has been an honor to represent Hopkins County over the past year.”
In District 5, Republican State Representative Mary Beth Imes has filed to seek re-election—District 5 includes Calloway County and a portion of Trigg County.
As of November 20, all three are unopposed, according to the Kentucky Secretary of State’s Office website—but there’s still time for that to change, as the filing deadline for partisan offices is January 5.
