Rodriguez blasts 2 HR in Lady Colonels win over Crittenden

Alondra Rodriguez hit two home runs and drove in four runs to send the visiting Christian County Lady Colonels to a 10-5 high school softball win over Crittenden County on Monday afternoon. 

The Lady Rockets scored four runs in the bottom of the first, but the Lady Colonels (2-0) rallied with three runs in the top of the fourth. The big hit in the inning was a two-run single by Talyn Ezell. 

Christian County took a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth on a double by Alexis Epps and then Rodriguez made it 7-4 on her first home run of the night. 

After Crittenden cut the lead to 7-5 in the bottom of the fourth, the Lady Colonels used the long ball again as Alyssa Petterson blasted a two-run homer for a 9-5 advantage in the top of the sixth. 

Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 on the day, slammed her second homer, a solo shot, with two out in the sixth to make it 10-5. 

Alyssa Petterson, Ezell, Katie Smith, and Chloe Almy all had two hits on the day for Christian County. 

Jordan Turner picked up the pitching win, striking out six. 

Christian County returns to action today at Fort Campbell in a District 8 game.
