Road work continues with some changes to traffic flow on I-69 in Madisonville

Motorists traveling on I-69 in Madisonville need to be aware of changes coming to the road rehabilitation project taking place near Exit 117.

The barrier wall on the northbound overpass at Exit 117 heading to U.S. 41 will be coming down Tuesday of next week, but the roadway will remain restricted to one lane. Crews will then relocate the barrier wall to the southbound side of the interstate as an extra safety precaution for workers working in close proximity to traffic.

Lane restrictions and reduced speed will remain in place throughout the project area.

The work is part of a $10 million interstate rehabilitation project along a 4.34-mile section of Interstate 69 in Madisonville. The project will also repair the northbound ramp at Exit 114, near James Madison Middle School.

The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-November 2025.
