The semifinals are set for the Region 2 All “A” Baseball Tournament, which will take place tonight beginning at 5:30 p.m. at University Heights Academy.
In the first game, Caldwell County will take on Lyon County.
The No. 8-ranked Lyons routed Livingston Central 16-1 Wednesday afternoon in their quarterfinal game. Lyon County enters the game with a 4-4 record.
Meanwhile, Caldwell County scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh inning and escaped with a 2-1 win over Fort Campbell on Wednesday in Princeton. It was the eighth win in a row for the Tigers, who come into tonight’s game with an 8-1 record.
The second semifinal tonight is scheduled to begin around 7:30 p.m. with host and No. 21-ranked UHA taking on Crittenden County.
The Blazers advanced with a 15-0, three-inning win over Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday afternoon. UHA is 5-3 on the season.
Crittenden County received a bye into the semifinals after Dawson Springs dropped its baseball program before the start of the season. The Rockets are 5-3 on the season.
The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at UHA. If UHA advances to the finals, airtime for the pregame show will be at 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
