Rain chances linger this week, before next week starts to dry out

Rain will stick with us through the rest of the week, along with those cool temperatures, before we enter into a weather trend that could be warmer and dryer.

Our coolest days of the week will be Monday and Tuesday, but they’re also our driest—after that, Forecaster Rachel Trevino with the National Weather Service in Paducah says there will be the chance for light rain each day of the week, which will keep things nice and cool.

There might be a couple of rumbles of thunder mixed in the rain, and then the weekend looks to warm up back towards the 80’s, leaving the rain behind.

Trevino says that looks to stay the trend in the 8-to-14-day outlook, with above average temperatures in store, along with lower-than-normal chances for precipitation.

Trevino says to enjoy the quiet weather—after a very noisy, historically wet start to the spring severe weather season, she says the region deserves a bit of a break.
