The Hopkinsville Tigers stopped a five-game losing streak as they held off Union County 78-73 Tuesday night in the final regular season boys’ basketball game ever at Tiger Gym.
Hopkinsville got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 16-10 lead and then extending the lead to 34-24 at the break.
The tempo increased in the second half and both teams saw their offense find its rhythm they combined to score 93 points in the final two quarters.
James Bradley Jr. had a triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists on Senior Night. Bradley Jr. scored 16 of his 20 points in second half.
Jonovan Leavell led Hoptown (15-13) with 21 points. Curtis Dillard had 14 and Tashawn Quarles added 10.
Union County (17-10) was led by Daishawn Curry’s 29 points. Marcus Patterson scored all 16 of his points in the second half.
It was the final game of the regular season for the Hopkinsville, who are scheduled to play Fort Campbell in the first round of the District 8 Tournament on Tuesday night in Tiger Gym.
