It was a another tough night for the Christian County Colonels boys’ basketball team, as host Bowling Green used an 18-4 run to end the first quarter to roll to an 82-53 win Tuesday night.
Christian County led 7-5 but Bowling Green went to a full-court pressure defense that resulted in a rash of Colonels’ turnovers. Luke Idlett also hit three 3-pointers as the Purples opened up a 30-point lead just before halftime.
Bowling Green’s largest lead came in the third quarter at 34 points before Coach D.G. Sherrill began substituting.
The Colonels dropped to 0-7 on the season and have lost nine straight games dating back to last year.
Zyon Wharton led the Colonels with 11 points and Rahseasn Stevenson added 10. Stafford Winston came off the bench to score nine for Christian County..
The Colonels travel to Rowan County Friday night and will take on Breathitt County on Saturday at Rowan County.
