Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Lyon County that claimed the life of Caldwell County man.
According to a news release, the two-vehicle collision happened in the intersection of the Interstate 24 westbound offramp at Exit 45 and KY 293 at roughly 5:45 p.m. Friday. Investigation determined that a box truck operated by 24-year-old Thomas Flood of Washington, had exited westbound toward KY 293.
At the same moment, a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Jerrod Easley of Princeton was heading north on KY 293. Flood entered the intersection into the path of Easly, which struck the side of the truck.
Easley was pronounced deceased at the scene, and Flood was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
