President Donald Trump has approved a major disaster declaration for Kentucky, following historic flooding, severe storms, landslides and more in early April.
A lot of a flood conditions still linger across the state and locally, so this approval will allow for disaster assistance to become available for Christian and Hopkins Counties, along with McCracken, Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Jessamine, Owen, Mercer and Woodford counties.
Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-interest loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621-3362
