Police arrest woman on drug charges following traffic stop

Hopkinsville Police arrested 32-year-old Amber Tinsley of Russellville for drug charges following a traffic stop on December 25.

According to a report from police, Tinsley was pulled over by law enforcement near the Glass Avenue and Colonette Drive intersection for missing her driver’s side mirror. As they approached the vehicle, officers reportedly smelled the odor of marijuana.

Officers then made contact with Tinsley and after reviewing her license they reportedly found that she had an active warrant out of Logan County. Tinsley’s vehicle was then searched and officers reportedly found marijuana cocaine and a jar containing a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine.

Tinsley allegedly admitted that the jar did contain methamphetamine. She has been charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and a couple of traffic violations.
