Hopkinsville police arrested 29-year-old Jontel Harris of Hope, Kentucky on Thursday and charged him with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief in relation to a church burglary that took place on October 22.
According to a police report, Cumberland Presbyterian Church staff reported that a suspect had gained entry to the church, broke four glass windows and stole a smart television. The suspect was later found to be Harris after he allegedly confessed to the burglary when he was arrested under an unrelated warrant.
Harris allegedly said during the time of the burglary he was under the influence of drugs and provided law enforcement with the location of the smart television which was recovered.
