Hopkinsville Police arrested 45-year-old Marion Wimberly of Hopkinsville after he reportedly fled from police on foot and was in possession of suspected cocaine on Wednesday.
According to a report from police, officers witnessed Wimberly driving without a seat belt and initiated a traffic stop. When the car stopped, Wimberly reportedly jumped out of the car and fled on foot.
Before officers apprehended Wimberly he reportedly discarded a bag of suspected crack cocaine and was operating the car with a suspended operator’s license.
Wimberly was charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, operating a vehicle on a suspended license, failure to wear a seat belt and tampering with physical evidence.
