Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 40-year-old David Graham after receiving multiple reports of a man attempting to gain access to homes on Coxmill Road and Tennessee Avenue on Wednesday.
Officers were first alerted to Coxmill Road after receiving a report from a resident that a man, later identified as Graham, was standing in their back yard and going into the back yards of neighboring houses.
In the area of Coxmill Road, officers received another report of someone matching Graham’s description breaking into a home. The caller said Graham appeared to be bleeding and ran before the resident could catch him.
Officers then reportedly saw Graham before he took off running. After he fled, officers received a report from a resident on Tennessee Avenue about Graham attempting to break into their basement. When officers arrived on the scene Graham fled again.
A K-9 officer then reportedly saw Graham crossing Cypress Street and pursued him before deploying his K-9 which led to the end of the pursuit. In custody, Graham reportedly had infected dog bites which he says he received a few days prior while being on someone’s property when he was not supposed to be. Graham was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for his injuries.
Officers charged Graham with second-degree burglary and first-degree fleeing or evading police and released him. Graham will appear in court for his charges on January 8.
