On Tuesday, just before the portal window closed, former Lyon County High School basketball star Travis Perry announced he was leaving the University of Kentucky and entering the transfer portal.
Perry, the 2024 Kentucky Mr. Basketball and the all-time leading scorer in Kentucky high school basketball history, averaged 2.7 points per game in 9.8 minutes per game for the Wildcats as a freshman.
With Perry’s defection, Kentucky is now likely to attempt to add one more transfer or high school recruit to the 2025-26 basketball roster.
The story was first reported by 247 Sports’ Travis Branham.
