Caldwell County High School hosted a Leadership and Professionalism Day for the Pennyrile Region FFA on Saturday, November 23rd.
The event welcomed 33 FFA students, 3 Kentucky FFA state officers and numerous other guests from around the state. The FFA chapters that make up the Pennyrile region include Caldwell County, Christian County, Crittenden County, Hopkins Central, Hopkinsville, Lyon County, Madisonville North, Muhlenberg COunty and Todd County schools.
During the leadership event students had the opportunity to hone in on important interview and speaking skills that will set them apart from other applicants.
Among guests were Taylor Nash and Renee Carrico with the Kentucky Farm Bureau, and they provided students with in-depth workshops and valuable life skills that will travel with them throughout any career.
Daniel Laurent the President of the Pennyrile Region FFA says it was obvious there is a need for an event of this caliber. This event is a spin off of leadership events in years past, but this year they focused on providing a solid foundation for professional growth.
Luarent goes on to explain, the team wanted to provide something beyond traditional leadership development and ensure every participant can succeed beyond the classroom.Â
The region will be excited to host local FFA chapters again so they can be another example of what the FFA organization is doing.
