One injured, one sought in Princeton shooting

A Princeton man has been wounded and another is being sought for arrest following a shooting incident early Thursday morning.

It happened around 2:40 a.m. in the 300 block of Beverly Lane in Princeton—officers with the Princeton Police Department responded to reports of shots fired and arrived to find 34-year-old Jerrod Cooper of Princeton with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, and his condition is currently unknown.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in this case, and an arrest warrant for first-degree assault has been issued for 20-year-old Hector Miguel Pena of Princeton.

Pena is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 270-365-2041.

Investigators believe this to have been an isolated incident, and the community is not in any ongoing danger.
