A Madisonville man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on McCoy Avenue near the City Park entrance.
According to the Madisonville Police Department, a vehicle operated by 58-year-old Kenneth Griffey of Madisonville was heading east on McCoy, along with a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Jovaughn Gant of Madisonville and several other automobiles.
Investigation determined that Gant was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed in the left lane in an attempt to pass three vehicles, including Griffey, when Griffey made a left turn into the parking lot of the Salvation Army. The two vehicles collided.
Griffey was transported to Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital for treatment of injuries.
