One hurt, one charged in South Jessup collision

One person was injured and another taken into custody following a wreck on South Jessup Avenue in Hopkinsville Wednesday night.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to South Jessup near the intersection of West Second Street for reports of a collision. Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Prezel Loudermilk of Hopkinsville had been heading eastbound on West Second when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and continued through the intersection.

The vehicle collided with another being driven by 42-year-old Reeshemah Grooms of Hopkinsville, which was going through the intersection.

Grooms had to be assisted from the vehicle by the Hopkinsville Fire Department, and was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
