The Oak Grove Tourism Commission is celebrating another win after they were presented a Traverse Award for the Butterfly Festival at the 2024 Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s annual conference.
The festival earned the commission a Bronze Traverse Award for destination management. Travelers from across the region come to the festival to witness the release of thousands of butterflies.
Commission Executive Director Traci Cunningham says they are thrilled and honored to receive this award for the festival. Cunningham calls the recognition a reflection of the hard work, passion and dedication of everyone involved, from their incredible team to the amazing community that shows up year after year to make the festival truly shine and have such great success.
Cunningham says the festival has become a significant driver for the City of Oak Grove’s economy, drawing visitors from across the region and thanks all who support the commission.
The next Butterfly Festival is set for September 6, 2025.
