Western Kentucky including Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties are under a winter storm warning as Winter Storm Cora is set to impact the region starting late Thursday night through Friday.
Forecaster Justin Gibbs with the National Weather Service in Paducah says projected snowfall amounts have slowly increased. Snow amounts in south western Kentucky have increased to 5 to 7 inches which will greatly impact travel. Hopkinsville is expected to receive 4 to 6 inches of snow.
However, snowfall amounts depend the winter storm’s path through the region. At the most, Gibbs says our region could receive around 8 inches of snow and at the least 4 inches of snow.
Snow is expected to start accumulating from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. Friday morning and is set to conclude between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday night.
